Welcome Team
The purpose of the Welcome Team is to ensure that everyone who comes to Hope knows that God loves them and we love them. With smiles, hugs and genuine concern, each member lets God use them to love others.
Our physical tasks are varied. The Welcome Team is responsible for greeting people and providing each individual a nametag as they arrive at Hope for Sunday services and other occasions as needed (fun events, memorials, celebrations, etc.). In addition, the team provides the coffee and keeps the refreshments in a clean and orderly presentation. Communion is also prepared each Sunday morning by the Welcome Team and it is responsible for collecting welcome cards and offerings at the end of each service. The team ensures the Horizons bulletin and additional printed materials are given to each Sunday service guest.
For newcomers, in addition to the welcoming functions set forth above, the team provides an overview of the building, Hope's values and beliefs, what the guest can expect, provides printed materials, is available to answer questions, and escorts those with children to the appropriate children's ministry, explaining the program along the way. We try to help the person get connected to at least one or two other people to help make them feel more at home.
